The Norton Simon Museum is a hidden gem found in Pasadena just outside of Los Angeles. Over a 30-year period, Norton Simon amassed an amazing collection of European art from the Renaissance to the 20th century with a stellar collection of South and Southeast Asian art spanning 2,000 years. The museum also holds modern and contemporary art from Europe and the United States acquired by the former Pasadena Art Museum. The Norton Simon Museum galleries and gardens compliment the 12,000 objects, of which roughly 1,000 are on display. The Norton Simon Musuem routinely features two temporary exhibitions.
