Philadelphia Museum of Art began as a legacy of the great Centennial Exhibition of 1876, held in Fairmount Park. At the conclusion of the celebrations, the Exhibition’s art gallery – remained open as a Museum of Art and Industry “for the improvement and enjoyment of the people of the Commonwealth.”
Hours
- Tuesday through Sunday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, closed Mondays.
- Friday extended hours for select galleries: 10:00 am – 8:45 pm.
- Closed: Mondays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and the 4th of July.
Admission Fees
- Admission 20$, children under 12 free.
